RETAIL RUNTIME / EDITORIAL STANDARDS

Editorial standards

Retail Runtime reports on retail technology using source-based, original journalism. We prefer primary documentation and clearly attribute company, vendor and other claims when the source relationship matters. Anonymous or weak sources may suggest a lead, but do not alone establish consequential facts.

AI tools may assist research, drafting, editing and risk checks. They do not independently approve high-risk publication. Retail Runtime’s AI editorial personas are disclosed as AI; final publishing responsibility remains with the founder.

Vendor announcements are news inputs, not independent confirmation. We preserve pilot scope, avoid inferring contracts or company-wide rollouts, and omit unsupported claims. We do not reproduce another publisher’s distinctive writing, long quotations, graphics or proprietary analysis.

Images require traceable source, credit and rights review before publication. Paid or sponsored material, if published, is clearly labeled and separated from independent editorial coverage.

Material factual corrections are noted on the article. Minor style and typography fixes may be made without a correction note. Conflicts of interest that could materially affect a story are reviewed and disclosed where appropriate.
